Launch!
Hey guys, Bolshevik here. Finally launched JDD. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions finishing this game. I’ll be doing my best to update it with some aesthetic things I’ve planned for it and bug fixing it.
That said, allow me to explain the reason behind this game’s existence.
I’ve been participating in jams for a bit over a year now but I was itching to develop a full fledged commercial release. Originally slated to take 2 months, in good game development cycle fashion, it ended up taking a bit over 4 months.
Mostly because I wasn’t happy with the way some subsystems where working and ended up changing them along the way, altering other stuff as I did so.
What you’ll find with JDD is a chill puzzle-platformer that doesn’t take you for a dumb idiot, but as a primate smart enough to think ooohh those pointy things bad. As such, there’s no tutorial, no guidance that takes you out of the game. That doesn’t mean that the game doesn’t try to teach you how it works, it just strives to do so in a manner that doesn’t take you out of it.
If you encounter any bugs, have feedback or just your general opinion, please do tell me about it through our Twitter o directly commenting on this post or the game’s page. I’d really like to know what you guys think of this.
So, here’s for a good launch.
Godspeed bois
